wheel throwing

Throwing 1 - Intro to Wheel Throwing

$650/8 weeks

Description: Mandatory 8 week session for all true beginners to wheel throwing. Students will learn all basic steps and skills required to move freely about the studio.
Beginners courses are fixed sessions - all subsequent levels are on rolling enrollment based on availability. Enrollment is first come first serve.

Whats included:
- FREE OPEN STUDIO FOR 8 WEEKS we want to encourage beginners to spend as much time as they need to get acclimated to the studio so come on in and make some pots!
- FIRST BAG OF CLAY S182 White Clay
- Free supplemental reclaim clay for practice! Please speak with your instructor about more info. We make a lot of doodoo pots while we are learning - LIC wants you to explore without being concerned about wasting “good” clay. Come get messy!
- standard work storage for classes

Disclaimer: Before moving onto the next level you will have an opportunity to let us know if you aren’t comfortable moving out of the beginners class. We all learn at a different pace so if you would like to retake a beginners class we highly encourage that you do so. Tuition will be charged at the Throwing 2 rate but enrolled as a level 1 student without the benefits of free open studio/bag of clay. This is an offer extended for current beginners who are re-enrolling in a Throwing 1 class. Additionally, any beginner who has missed more than 2 classes in Throwing 1 and would wish to re-enroll, the student must retake Throwing 1 at the Throwing 1 rate.

IMPORTANT:
Absences and missing classes in Throwing 1 - we ask that students do NOT miss the first three classes of throwing 1 because it interrupts the flow of the whole class when students fall behind. It’s a lot of skill building in the beginning so consistent attendance is crucial to the learning process. Please be sure to let us know if you will miss the class. Make up classes for beginners will be made later on in the 8 week session. Thank you!

4 Weeks $260
8 Weeks $520
