Throwing 1 - Intro to Wheel Throwing
$650/8 weeks
This mandatory 8-week session is designed for all true beginners to wheel throwing. Students will learn the foundational skills and techniques needed to work confidently and independently within the studio.
Beginner courses run as fixed 8-week sessions. Enrollment is managed via waitlist, and offered first come, first served.
What’s Included:
FREE OPEN STUDIO FOR 8 WEEKS! We want to encourage beginners to spend as much time as they need to get acclimated to the studio so come on in and make some pots.
FIRST BAG of S182 White Clay
Standard work storage for classes
Disclaimer: Before moving on to the next level, you’ll have the opportunity to let us know if you don’t yet feel comfortable leaving the beginner class. Everyone learns at a different pace, and we highly encourage students to repeat Throwing 1 if they feel they would benefit from additional practice.
Students re-enrolling in a consecutive Throwing 1 class may do so at the Throwing 2 tuition rate while remaining enrolled as a Level 1 student. Please note that this option does not include the benefits of free open studio access or a complimentary bag of clay.
Additionally, any beginner student who has missed more than two classes during Throwing 1 and wishes to continue must retake Throwing 1 at the standard Throwing 1 tuition rate.
IMPORTANT:
Absences in Throwing 1
We ask that students do not miss the first three classes of Throwing 1, as these classes focus heavily on foundational skill-building. Missing early classes can make it difficult to keep up with the pace of the course and may interrupt the flow of the class as a whole. Consistent attendance during the beginning of the session is essential to the learning process.
With the exception of extenuating circumstances, please let us know in advance if you will need to miss a class. Make-up classes for beginners will be scheduled later in the 8-week session. Thank you!
